Sgt. B.J. Jackson to speak at CCRW April Meeting

Sgt. B.J. Jackson is an investigator with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office in Tahlequah, OK.


Sergeant Jackson is a lifelong resident of Cherokee County and lives in Tahlequah with his wife and three children. He is a graduate of Northeastern State University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology.

Sgt Jackson started his law enforcement career as a reserve deputy for the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office in 2019. He graduated from CLEET academy in 2022 and worked for NSU Police Department for a period before becoming a full-time patrol deputy for the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office in December of 2022. In January of 2025, He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and given the duties of Investigator.


The topic of the presentation is Elder Scam Awareness. The presentation begins with a brief overview of some of the common scams we see that target the elderly. Then a more in-depth look at each type of scam, giving advice on what to look out for and what to do if you do believe it is a scam. This will be accompanied by stories of some of the cases that we have seen in Cherokee County. The information is presented with a short PowerPoint presentation followed by a group discussion and time for questions.
